In this beautiful world, you can find unique animals remarkable and have bizarre behavior and features. And some animals are rare to find. From the Vaquita to Sumatran Rhinoceros, here are the 20 Hard to find Animals that you should visit once in your lifetime.

Hard to find Animals

The Pangolin

source
Pangolin, the world’s most trafficked animal, is used as a delicacy in Vietnam and China, and its scales contain medicinal properties. Due to these reasons, all four species of Asian Pangolin are critically endangered. Moreover, all the species of African Pangolin are also becoming critically endangered for their unique appearance and the scales made of Keratin (the same Keratin that everyone pays enormous sum at the hair salon).

The Seneca White Deer

source
They are an extremely rare herd of deer that lack pigmentation in their body but still have brown eyes. There are only 300 in total, and the species are protected by the former Seneca Army Depot, where they are can freely stay away from predators and are open to the public to view.

The Elephant Shrew

source
The Elephant Shrew found in the Boni Dodori Forest in Kenya has an unusual appearance with the head of a small anteater and the body of a mouse. Sadly, due to the increase in deforestation, the population of the shrew has reduced rapidly. An estimate of 13,000 elephant shrews exists along with 19 different subspecies to date.

The Ti-Liger

source
The Ti-Liger is one of the very Hard to find Animals on the planet. This man-made mix between a tiger and a liger is scarce to spot. Rescue experts commented that there is one located in Oroville, California, and a total of six to ten can be found around the globe. These species are much bigger than an average tiger cub and are crossbreeds. So, they do not face health issues compared to their hybrid peers, which means there are chances of an increase in their population.

The Northern Hairy Nosed Wombat

source
You may have witnessed a wombat at your local zoo; odds are you may have never seen the Northern Hairy Nosed Wombat. They are born with poor eyesight, and these cute animals use their noses to find food in the darkness. Furthermore, there are only 115 left, all of which are found in Queensland, Australia.

The Yangtze Finless Porpoise

source
Asia’s longest river, the Yangtze River, was once two dolphin species – the Baiji dolphin and the finless porpoise. Due to environmental damage done by humans, the Baiji dolphin got extinct in 2006. Unfortunately, the population of Finless Porpoise is also on the verge of extinction. This species is known to have the mischievous smile and the high intelligence of a Gorilla. WWF listed this dolphin as critically endangered, and presently there are only less than 1000 dolphins alive.

The Vaquita

source
The Vaquita is the rarest marine mammal found on earth. It was discovered in 1958 and has been an almost extinct animal since then. Possessed with dark rings around its eyes and big gray fins, Vaquita is easily recognizable, but it will swim away quickly when approached. Due to illegal fishing in the Gulf of California, they are often drowned in nets, and the population has been drastically reduced to 30. It seems that all of them will extinct soon before people ever get to see this mammal.

The Saola

source
A native of Vietnam, the Saola mammal is a rare breed and one of the Hard to find Animals. The creature was discovered in 1992 and features two parallel longhorns that are why it is referred to as the Unicorn of Asia. It resembles an antelope but is technically related to cattle. The Saola is found only in the Annamite Mountains of Laos and Vietnam, making their population extremely small. The actual figures are still unknown to researchers.

The Amur Leopard

source
The Amur leopard is distinctive for its kind, and instead of the Savanna, it’s settled in the Far East of Russia. With warm fur, and the capacity to run up to 37 miles per hour, this leopard is truly a feat of nature. Having a lifespan of 10 to 15 years, however, this animal is extremely rare, with only about 84 currently being counted by the WWF.

Hector’s Dolphins

source
Hector’s dolphins are not only the smallest but also the rarest marine dolphin on the planet. These dolphins have short, husky bodies, and distinctive facial markings are found only in the waters along the Northern Island of New Zealand. The latest estimate places the species to around 7,000 individuals, with some subspecies having populations as less as 55.

So, we have discussed a total of 10 rarest animals in detail, and now you get to know the next 10 Hard to find Animals.
